Layers change the shape of a cut, and where they sit matters more than how many. Fine hair usually looks fuller with fewer, longer layers that keep weight at the ends; take too much out and it can start to look thin. Face-framing pieces or a bang change the shape around your face without shortening the rest, which makes them an easy first step if you're not ready to lose length.

Bangs and curtain bangs

Curtain bangs frame the face on either side of a middle part and soften a cut around the eyes and cheekbones. Between haircuts, a bang trim is up to $60.

How often to book

Short hair usually needs a cut every four to eight weeks to hold its shape. Long hair can go eight to twelve. Many of our team are colorist/stylists, so if you color your hair too, the cut and the color can be planned together in one visit. We cut men's hair too.

Blowouts, and a blow-dry after color
